However you can get flights into Trinidad's Piarco International Airport. This airport benefits from a wide range of regional and international flights and a regular air bridge service handles the 25 minute transfer between the two islands. Major tour operators such as British Airways and Virgin Atlantic provide flights from London Gatwick 4 days a week, so there is plenty of flexibility in finding holidays to Tobago. Getting around Tobago is best done by taxi. Official taxis will have vehicle registration plates that start with the letter 'H' to allow you to know they are official taxi drivers for your own safety and security. Keep an eye out for mini buses that can be hailed by the side of the road, these are a cheap option to get you around the island.

When you're out and about, head to 'Englishman's Bay', a secluded beach that lies on the edge of the rainforest. Follow a small wooden signpost that is actually situated in the rainforest and follow it down a narrow tunnel of bamboo to find the beach. From the minute you set sight on this stunning beach you will question as to why nobody has developed this little gem and why no large hotels are built here. There is nothing but peace and quiet and amazing photo opportunities. A very small snack trolley selling delicious local pies and soft drinks comes here to supply you with refreshments.

There is an abundance of choice when it comes to food and drink in Tobago, which is surprising given the size of the island. Whether you prefer to sample some typical Tobagonian cuisine or stick with what you're used to, you will find it all here. Locals are extremely fond of their fresh food; fish, steak, fruit and vegetables are all high on the menu. Keep an eye out for 'Roti', an Indian style pancake wrapped up around a thick curry of potato and chick peas, served with chicken, it is said to be delicious, and for under £1.00 it is definitely worth trying.
